Pulse Utilities New Zealand Limited was founded in February 2004 as a start-up smart metering specialist developing the X3 and X5 smart metering loggers.

In 2009 Dene Biddlecombe joined as CEO and set about transforming Pulse from a start-up into New Zealand’s fastest growing independent Electricity Retailer.

Pulse now supplies over 30,000 customers nationwide under the Just Energy brand. Pulse is listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange under the ticker PLU.
