Dene Biddlecombe is Chief Executive Officer of the company. Dene is a Chartered Accountant with an MBA from Otago University. He has experience in senior management roles in the public and private sectors. He was formerly Chief Executive Officer of NZX-listed Horizon Energy Distribution Ltd in Whakatane. Prior to that, he was Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary for NIWA where he was also responsible for the coordination of their research and commercial activities in the United States. He was also Chairman of Calgary Petroleum, which was sold to Tag Oil in 2006.

John Cilliers is our Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary. John was formerly Chief Financial Officer of The Lines Company in Te Kuiti and prior to that Financial Controller at NIWA for five years. At NIWA John had much involvement in the development of new business initiatives and the commercialization of Intellectual Property. Previous roles in South Africa included being an Auditor in a Chartered Accounting firm, and then Internal Audit and Management Accounting in a commercial organisation. John is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Robert Copeland is our Technology Manager. Prior to joining Pulse, Robert worked for 12 years at Gentrack where he was a Software Developer intimately involved in the development of Gentrack’s specialised utilities billing engine. Robert has also been Information Technology Manager at New Zealand Tertiary College  where he managed the development of the online learning website, the team of developers, testers and systems architects. Robert has been responsible for Technology, Research and Development at Pulse since 2007.

Jason Davis is our Sales & Marketing Manager. Jason was formerly the Sales Manager for The Good Guys Ltd and prior to that worked within the Appco Group for six years. Within the Appco group he worked on campaigns for clients such as Telecom, Paralympics NZ, UNICEF and American Express in a sales management role. He has worked in New Zealand and Australia in sales training, recruitment and quality control of the sales procedures and channels. Jason has been responsible for the establishment of the Direct Sales operation at Pulse since 2009.

Craig Parker is our Special Projects Manager. He worked with Pulse since 2004. He has led the set-up of the company’s Electricity Retail operation including ISO9001 certification, Billing & CRM systems, Electricity Governance compliance, Generation & Trading and other operational frameworks. Craig comes from a multi-disciplined background including project and quality management for Mainzeal Property & Construction Ltd, implementation of the Peoplesoft ERP system for Credit Suisse First Boston Ltd and management consulting including a period with the legal profession. Craig has a BE (Hons) and BCom from the University of Auckland.

Daniel Pinny is our Operations Manager. Prior to joining Pulse, Daniel was a Senior Consultant at Savio Solutions, where he provided business analysis and project management services related to the delivery of CRM and event management software solutions. Daniel spent six years working in various capacities at Gentrack, including a high level of involvement in the development of the Gentrack network billing product. Daniel was also involved in leading several large scale implementation projects with the resulting product successfully deployed to bill 80% of the New Zealand’s ICP’s. At Gentrack, Daniel held roles as a Developer, Technical team leader, Business Consultant, and as Client Services Manager of all Gentrack sites throughout NZ and the Pacific Islands. Daniel has a Bachelor of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, specialising in Information Systems.
