Pulse Energy is our premium electricity retail brand, offering customers smart meter technology. Smart meters allow customers to monitor their electricity usage and take advantage of our discounted rates at off-peak times.

Smart meters send the data collected to our back office software either via GPRS, radio frequency or Ethernet. This enables us to identify customers’ electricity usage patterns and pass on cheaper off-peak electricity rates to them. In addition to reducing customers’ power costs, this is also good for the environment as it encourages the use of electricity during off-peak hours when generation primarily comes from renewable sources such as hydro and geothermal.

Pulse purchases some electricity supply directly from local renewable sources of generation such as run-of-river and some through hedging arrangements.
